Furthering relationships with an e-newsletter
“I have an online newsletter that I send out every week to promote the radio program I do, called Innovation Alberta. The newsletter lets me announce upcoming meetings and seminars and post news releases. I can also make personal contact with my audience through my weekly column about what’s happening in my garden!
My radio program gets archived to my website each week.
So the newsletter lets me tell people what’s posted there. And because of the feedback mechanism, MyMailout lets me see what’s of interest to people.
The results have been great. I started off just emailing to a list of about 400 names. But then a friend hooked me up with MyMailout. Because it allows people to subscribe, I now have over 2500 readers all over the world—in Houston, Texas, Buenos Aires, even Bangkok, Thailand. I can also send lots of pictures, which people seem to really like.
And it’s a piece of cake! I can put in pictures and say a little something—even link to someone else’s site. When I’m done, I just press a button and off it goes!
People have started to ask if I’d stick stuff in about them. They’ve wanted to know how they can become a part of it. Lots of people have become clients of MyMailout because of my newsletter!”
