The Library Renewed Campaign
As part of The Library Renewed campaign, an eight-page, full colour tab publication called Public Libraries …. a place for everyone, is currently in production.
The publication provides a snapshot of public libraries across the province. Over 700,000 copies are being printed for distribution to 95 markets through daily and weekly newspapers early in October. Copies will also be distributed to libraries across the province, and a copy will be sent to Alberta MLAs. Thanks to everyone who submitted ideas and worked with the Edmonton Journal to produce the publication, which was made possible by the Alberta Public Library Electronic Network (APLEN).
Also thanks to APLEN, Global Edmonton is currently producing the final public service
announcement (PSA) for The Library Renewed campaign. Seven ads were produced
over the past three years focusing on the benefits of libraries. The Global crew has traveled the province talking with librarians about their work and with patrons whose lives have been enriched by their local library. Watch for the continuing campaign and the new PSA, scheduled for broadcast in October.
The Library Renewed Campaign is designed to meet a number of objectives, including reinforcing the library’s position as an agent for social and educational advancement and raising the profile of libraries as a great source of usable, accurate information.
