The Buchanan Connection

TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 3 at 7 PM

Victoria Baster will present a rigorous examination of the influence on postwar design in Canada by Lethbridge’s own Donald Buchanan. Elder son of Senator W. A. Buchanan, he went on to hold key positions in many of Canada’s then fledgling art organizations including the National Gallery of Canada, Canadian Art Magazine and the National Film Board of Canada to name a few.

Arthur Erickson and the University of Lethbridge

TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 10 at 7 PM

Closing the series, architecture critic, writer, curator and lecturer Trevor Boddy will focus on architect Arthur Erickson and the University of Lethbridge, considered by many to be one of the most important examples of architecture in Canada. This lecture is to be held at the University offering participants a rare, in-depth tour of the building including features that are often overlooked.
