CALL FOR INSTRUCTOR – VIDEO KITCHEN
The Film and Video Arts Society – Alberta (FAVA) is accepting applications for the position of Video Kitchen Class Instructor for a new class beginning September 2010.
Video Kitchen is one of FAVA’s long-standing classes. It is a 13-class course that provides training in the basics of digital video production. Each participant will make his or her own 5-10 minute project.
Classes: Saturdays 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at FAVA
Sept. 11, 18, 25, Oct. 2, 16, 23, 30, Nov. 6, 13, 20, 27, Dec. 4, 11
Instructor must be available to instruct or facilitate all of the classes, shoots and editing sessions, provide all handouts and facilitate the completion of all projects. Remuneration is $2,880.00 CDN (5 hrs x 13 classes @ instructor rate of $40 per hour = $2,600.00 plus 7 hrs prep @ $40 per hour = $280.00)
Qualifications:
- knowledge and experience in digital video production and post-production
- post-secondary education in visual arts or film and video production, or equivalent experience
- teaching experience

CALL FOR TECHNICIAN / TEACHING ASSISTANT – VIDEO KITCHEN
The Film and Video Arts Society – Alberta (FAVA) is accepting applications for the position of Video Kitchen Class Technician / Teaching Assistant for a new class beginning September 2010.
Video Kitchen is one of FAVA’s long-standing classes. It is a 13-class course that provides training in the basics of digital video production. Each participant will make his or her own 5-10 minute project.
Classes: Saturdays 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at FAVA
Sept. 11, 18, 25, Oct. 2, 16, 23, 30, Nov. 6, 13, 20, 27, Dec. 4, 11
Technician / Teaching Assistant will assist the class instructor to facilitate classes, shoots and editing sessions. Technician will work a total of 52 hours over the duration of the course, to be scheduled in consultation with the class instructor. Remuneration is $1040.00 CDN (based on $20/hour technician rate)
Qualifications:
- knowledge and experience in digital video production and post-production
- post-secondary education in visual arts or film and video production, or equivalent experience is preferred
- teaching experience is preferred
